hnnnnnn the smell of baking bread is so fuckin incredible

Not my best looking or best tasting (butter a little burned, hollandaise got cold on account of it's December, eggs are a tiny bit too set although still runny). But Christmas morning eggs Benny!! (I know they have like, different names if they're with salmon and spinach like these are. But I honestly don't really care 😂)

Cheese ‘n’ sundries, basically the opposite of the curries we’ll probably be eating the rest of the week

cooking some xmas clam chowder. have i mentioned that i like dill?

When I moved here, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find mulled wine, so I decided to make my own this year. Turns out some stores do have it, I'm close enough to the German-speaking region, but making it myself was definitely worth the trouble of going around finding the spices 😁😋

ok despite my best efforts at convincing myself otherwise, these definitely ended up a little burnt on the bottom

auto cw: could contain food

@mdszy 2 tsp active dry yeast, 3 cups bread flour, 1 1/2 tsp salt (I go with half or a third of that), 2 tsp granulated sugar, 1 1/4 cups plus 1 Tbs of water.
let the bread machine knead & rise the dough once. let it knead it a second time. then take dough out, divide it in 1/2. roll each 1/2, place in baguette pan. glaze with egg white. (or aquafaba). slash each 1/2 diagonally 5 times with a knife. allow to rise for 45-60 mins. bake in preheated oven at 400 F for 25-30 mins.

it's fun how i gotta say this because some people are like five years old and need to be told this

news flash if i ask for a bread recipe it's not helpful to respond with "flour, water, yeast and a bit of salt"

re: yule log thread

ok lmao the mushrooms......

they are now setting so hopefully in an hour or so i can stand them all up as they should go. definitely this was more annoying than rolling the cake up but i think they will still look cute when they are all assembled on the cake ? i hope ?

anyone have a recipe they really like for french bread?

hey! excited to be here, quit twitter but still feeling that desire to shout about making crackers into the void.

found out that i'm mega-allergic to soy recently, and there's soy in basically every industrially-made carb on the planet, so there will probably be quite a bit of that kinda thing from me

One pot shrimp & taters

I swear I put fewer potatoes into the pot than I pulled out

there’s another dozen of chocolate chip cooling right now, and i’m about to make the last of the snickerdoodle and snowballs since there was a bit of dough left over
