The translation between chips(uk) and fries(us) is problematic. For instance, how to describe a chip butty? I definitely wouldn't say 'fries sandwich'. For me fries are 'thin chips with a crispy outside'. Everything about a chip butty is thick and soft.

introduction

Hi, I've just arrived. My bio:

Sometime farmer, forever cook. I eat anything, preferably local (East of England), mainly plant based. I love variety, hate waste. I also toot as @keith

The ice cream van came today. I had a strawberry-and-clotted-cream cone with a flake. It was sublime. Only 158 hours till the van comes back. Is it too early to go outside and wait?
